    The word ‘Halal’ literally means permissible-and in translation it is usually used as lawful.
    It is well known in the meat trade that Muslims consume Halal meat.
    HowTever, at times questions are asked, what is Halal?
    In Arabic it is simply means permissible or allowed, opposite to it is haram,
    this means forbidden or not allowed.

     Halal Meat & Poultry

    Species acceptable/permissible for Muslim consumption:
  • Ovine: goat, lamb, sheep
  • Bovine: cow, buffalo
  • Pultry: domestic fowl, chicken, turkey, pigeons, hens, ostrich
  • Deer, camel
  • Allowed fishes & sea foods
